Artists in order of appearance:
YOUNG AUSTIN BAND
Austin Young picked up his first guitar at 12 and hasn't put it down since. By the way, that was less than four years ago. An incredible guitar "phenom", he plays the blues like he's lived them for a hundred years...but in a body that isn't old enough yet to get a driver's license.
His inspirations span the breadth of this enduring American musical form, from historical giants like Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters to contemporary masters like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Together with bassist friend Noah Mast (who just turned 16) and proud papa/drummer Tim Young as the YOUNG AUSTIN BAND, the three have lovingly developed a sound they call "Texandrix Blues". Early random jams around Colorado Springs have now blossomed into heralded appearances at regional and national blues festivals, night clubs and an ever-growing "Battle of the Bands" winner trophy case.
This band is a must-see. Close your eyes and fill your senses with the visceral honesty of blues performed with a modern, high energy sound while faithful to its traditional roots. Then take a look at who's playing and simply shake your head in wonder and amazement.
FRONT RANGE ALL STARS -
Banjomania" just might be a better name for this gang. Five banjos...rollicking clarinet, piano and tuba accompaniment...freewheeling arrangements of Dixieland favorites and beloved standards that make toe-tapping and broad grins impossible to avoid.
FRONT RANGE ALL STARS they are indeed. A team of virtuoso musicians with national credits and reputations for excellence, playing and singing an immortal style of traditional jazz that's as much fun to perform as it is to hear.
It's an hour of musical merriment rivaling anything you'll see this summer, guaranteed to leave you in a fabulous upbeat mood and wanting more.
